During a Kansas City Chiefs game on November 4, Taylor Swift offered support to Brittany Mahomes after her husband, Patrick Mahomes, injured his ankle against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Swift showed the importance of friendship, stepping in as a comforting presence for Brittany.
The “Bad Blood” singer, who attended the game to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, was seen placing a supportive arm around Brittany as the injury unfolded. Swift was joined by her family, including her mother, Andrea, brother Austin, and Kelce’s mother, Donna, as they observed Patrick limp off the field in the fourth quarter.
Despite the alarming incident, Chiefs fans, along with Brittany, were relieved as Patrick was able to shake off the injury soon after. Reflecting on the moment, Patrick admitted to feeling concerned when he felt the pain. “You feel it, and it’s definitely scary,” he told reporters, recalling how he initially feared the injury would sideline him. “I just lay there for a bit until the pain eventually…subsided. That’s the word, right? Subsided. Big word for me,” he added with a smile.
Thankfully, the injury didn’t prevent Patrick from continuing to play, and the Chiefs went on to secure an impressive eighth win of the season.
Swift’s presence at Arrowhead Stadium was also significant, as it marked her return after finishing her U.S. leg of the Eras Tour. The moment added to her and Brittany’s growing friendship, which has blossomed over the past year with several joint outings. Their camaraderie was evident in recent events, like their outing at the U.S. Open in New York, where the two were seen cheering for the athletes, enjoying their time together, and continuing to build a meaningful friendship.
