Jennifer Lopez recently expressed her appreciation for the team behind Unstoppable while responding to the admiration her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, shared about her role in the Netflix drama.
Lopez, known for her passion and dedication to her craft, praised the entire cast and crew.
Affleck, who co-produced Unstoppable and is navigating a separation from Lopez, described her performance in the film as “spectacular.” Lopez, in turn, reflected that this term perfectly encapsulates everyone who contributed to the film. In an interview during Unstoppable‘s U.K. premiere on November 5, she shared, “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful.”
Affleck, known for his love of storytelling, also expressed enthusiasm about Unstoppable, describing it as a unique project with a powerful message. He praised Lopez, as well as the film’s director William Goldenberg and co-stars Don Cheadle, Jharrel Jerome, and Bobby Cannavale. “We believed in the right people,” Affleck told Entertainment Tonight on November 3, adding that Unstoppable represents their shared commitment to meaningful storytelling.
Despite the couple’s recent split—after marrying in 2022 and filing for separation this August—both remain focused on their careers. Goldenberg acknowledged their professionalism, noting to E! News in September, “We just kept it about the movie. We kept our eye on the prize.”
While Affleck has not publicly commented on the divorce, Lopez recently opened up to Interview magazine about her path to self-reliance and independence. Reflecting on the process, she noted, “I thought I learned that, but I didn’t. And this summer, I had to prove to myself that I could do it on my own.”
The transition has been challenging for Lopez, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony. She admitted to grappling with difficult emotions, saying, “It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary… but when you sit with those feelings, you realize they’re not going to break you.”
Now, Lopez is focused on her well-being and personal growth. Embracing her resilience, she added, “I know I’m a good person. I know I’m a good mom. If you want a long career, you have to understand that some people will love you, and some won’t understand you—but none of that really matters.”
